Changi handled 4.37m passengers in May
Singapore Changi Airport handled 4.37 million passengers in May, a growth of two per cent compared to the same period a year ago.
Changi Airport Group, CAG, says flight movements increased by 1.7 per cent to 28,930.
During the month, 157,500 tonnes of cargo were processed at Changi, a 3.5 per cent increase year-on-year.
CAG says the growth in passenger traffic was supported by an increase in air travel between Singapore and Northeast Asia, South Asia and Southwest Pacific.
This offset the weaker performance on some Southeast Asian routes.
Among Changi Airport's top 10 country markets, Hong Kong and Vietnam registered double-digit increases.
For the period of January to May, 21.95 million passenger movements were recorded at Changi, 1.8 per cent more than the corresponding period in 2013.
