Change in Circle Line services on Sunday for cable works
SINGAPORE : SMRT has said it plans to replace about 120 kilometres of power cables on the Circle Line.
These new cables can withstand exposure to water, hence preventing power outages — something which had led to train disruptions in the past.
The replacement works have been going on since mid—January this year.
SMRT is targeting to complete the cable replacement works by year—end.
To hasten the process, there will be a change in normal train services on the Circle Line between 5.30am and 10am this Sunday.
For commuters affected by the temporary change, there will be a shuttle train service between Mountbatten and Paya Lebar stations from 5.30am to 10am on Sunday.
