Chan Chun Sing's trip to Brunei for defence exhibition
Second Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing says the international community needs closer mutual collaboration to deal with today's complex and transnational security threats.
Mr Chan made this point in a keynote address at the 4th Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition (BRIDEX) in Bandar Seri Begawan today.
To forge this stronger regional security architecture, Mr Chan says platforms have to be open and inclusive to all stakeholders.
He adds that disagreements between nations should be settled peacefully and in accordance with international law.
There must also be mechanisms to facilitate strategic dialogue and practical cooperation - including military-to-military cooperation - among key regional stakeholders.
While in Brunei, Mr Chan viewed a solo aerial display by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF)'s F-15SG fighter aircraft which were taking part in their first foreign defence exhibition.
