Body of missing windsurfer found

SINGAPORE : The body of Singaporean windsurfer, who went missing in the waters off the National Service Resort and Country Club (NSRCC), has been found near the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

According to media reports, the body of Goh Chuan Kiet was found on Tuesday night, some 50 hours after he was reported missing.

The 23-year-old undergraduate at SIM Global Education had just passed his Level One windsurfing certification last week and was out paddle boarding with a group of windsurfers on Sunday.

Search and rescue operations were carried out by the The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore after it received a report about the incident at about 2pm.

His board and paddle were retrieved by rescuers about 500 metres from the shore of NSRCC at 2.15pm on Monday.
