The body of the woman who was savagely gang-raped on a moving bus in Delhi is on its way home.
The 23-year-old medical student succumbed to her injuries early this morning, just two days after she arrived in Singapore for treatment.
The Indian High Commission had arranged for a chartered Air India flight, to bring the body back home.
At about 9pm on Saturday, the body was moved from the funeral parlour of Hindu Casket, after it was embalmed.
It arrived at Changi Airport's cargo complex at about 9.40.
The victim was brought to Mount Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday for treatment, in very critical condition.
Her condition took a turn for the worse late on Friday night and she died about 4.45 on Saturday morning.
