Banks begin "good—as—new" note exchange service
SINGAPORE: Banks in Singapore have started their service to exchange new notes for the Lunar New Year.
For the first time, customers can also choose to exchange old notes for "good—as—new" notes.
The notes were retrieved immediately after Lunar New Year in the past few years.
Some banks say it is still too early to gauge the response from customers.
The OCBC branch at OCBC Centre saw up to 10 per cent of customers exchanging their notes for the "good—as—new" notes while 20 per cent of customers opted to do so at another branch in Ang Mo Kio.
