Balloting for Primary 1 places expected in more than 90 schools

SINGAPORE: More than 90 schools are expected to conduct balloting for Phase 2C of the Primary 1 registration exercise.

Registration for this phase started on July 31 and ended Wednesday.

As at 10pm Wednesday, the Ministry of Education’s website indicated 94 schools in which the number of applicants exceeded the number of vacancies.

Nan Chiau Primary School in Seng Kang has 180 applicants vying for 59 places, while Rulang Primary School in Jurong West has 60 applicants for 10 places.

Balloting will be conducted on August 7.

Phase 2C is for children not yet registered in a primary school.
