Balance and pace crucial to Budget policies

Governement Parliamentary Committees Chair for Finance and Trade and Industry, Jessica Tan says while many agree on the need for restructuring, getting the balance and pace right will be crucial. 

She kicked off the debate on the Budget Statement today. 

She says the two strategic thrusts of the Budget must be taken together. 

They are restructuring the economy for Quality Growth and building a more inclusive society. 

If taken on their own, the initiatives for Quality Growth in this year's Budget could lead to higher costs for businesses. 

They could also have an inflationary impact on Singaporeans who are already concerned with the high cost of living.
