Asian Civilisations Museum set to get bigger and better with $5.5-million extension
The Asian Civilisations Museum will have a new wing added.
The new wing will be dedicated to tracing the cultural and trade roots of Chinese immigrants to Singapore and South East Asia.
Estimated to cost 5.5 million dollars to build, the extension will be open to the public in 2015.
Hong Leong Foundation donated 5 million dollars to this project, out of which 500 thousand dollars will be used to acquire artefacts related to Fujian culture.
The extension with its modern architecture of glass and titanium will be built in the existing courtyard of the museum building.
