The Singapore International Festival of Arts returns in August with a showcase of 12 foreign productions.

From a refreshed version of the classic Greek tragedy Oedipus Rex staged by Koreans to a heartwarming performance by Swiss artists with learning difficulties, the festival offers a line-up of works in theatre, dance and music.

These productions are tied to the theme of the festival - Legacy and the Expanded Classic.

They'll touch on the notions of human dignity and vulnerability, and re-imagined childhood classics and famous tragedies.

The festival runs for six weeks from August the 12th.

Ticket sales for the festival and its pre-festival public engagement programme - The O.P.E.N. - start today though SISTIC.
