Online sex service syndicate busted
Police have busted a vice syndicate suspected of selling sex services online.
Two men and three women aged between 23 and 30 years old were arrested.
Officers from the Central Police Division nabbed the first four suspects during an operation at a hotel along Belilios Road, in Little India, on Tuesday (8 February).
The fifth suspect was arrested at Yishun later the same day.
Almost $2,000 cash, condoms, notebooks, and other related items like hand-phones and a laptop were seized.
This is the second online sex service syndicate busted by the Police in less than a month - also operating from a hotel.
Police say it will continue to work with hotel owners to clamp down on vice activities.
Under the Hotels Licensing Regulations, prostitutes are forbidden in the premises of licensed hotels.
Hotel licensees who fail to comply with the regulation can be fined up to $2,000, and face suspension of cancellation of its operation license.
Persons found guilty of offences under the Women's Charter may be fined up to $10,000 and jailed for up to five years.
Repeat male offenders may face caning.
