SINGAPORE: Outstanding Singaporeans who are interested in the 2013 Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship can apply for it from November 30 to December 31.
The Public Service Commission Secretariat said applicants, who must be Singapore citizens, will be assessed based on whole—person qualities, including academic achievements and track record of leadership and service within or beyond their profession.
Scholarship holders can pursue postgraduate studies overseas or locally to develop their potential as leaders.
There are no restrictions on the course of study.
The scholarship was set up in 1991 by the Tanjong Pagar Citizens’ Consultative Committee, with funding from the public to commemorate the contributions made by former Minister Mentor, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, to Singapore.
To date, 39 outstanding Singaporeans have been awarded the scholarship to pursue a range of disciplines, such as law, business management, life sciences and music.
The scholarship is bond—free but scholars are expected to actively contribute to the country and community.
Applicants can download the application form at this
The completed document should be submitted to the Public Service Commission Secretariat by 5pm, December 31.
