SINGAPORE: Nearly S$11,000 was raised on Saturday as part of OCBC Cycle Singapore's year-long Safe Cycling campaign.
More than 1,000 cyclists turned up at Long House Food Centre on Saturday morning to support the cause.
Each cyclist was given a limited-edition Safe Cycling jersey with the message "Let's Share the Road", which is the theme of this year's Safe Cycling Campaign.
Cyclists were encouraged to make a donation to the Singapore Road Safety Council.
The money will go towards funding safe cycling clinics.
Organisers matched donations of S$10 and above, capped at S$30, in the form of registration discounts for OCBC Cycle Singapore, which takes place from March 28 to 30. - CNA/nd
