Almost 9 in 10 Singapore employees will increase or match increment and bonus pay-out

More than 9 in 10 employers who participated in a recent JobStreet.com survey intend to give at least one month bonus. 

850 Singaporean employees and 125 employers participated in the survey, conducted in January this year. 

As for increments, more than 2 in 10 employers surveyed said they intended to give a higher increment this year, citing staff retention as a key reason. 

Increments are likely to be between 3 and 6 per cent. 

According to the survey, more than 6 in 10 of employers acknowledge that salary increments and bonuses are the most effective retention tools. 

The survey also shows that the strong job market also has an impact on staff loyalty. 

Close to 5 in 10 employees, say they'll still explore better opportunities outside of their company, despite receiving bonuses and increments that meet their expectations. 

Decision for a job change is largely driven by factors like better remuneration packages, staff benefits, work-life balance and career advancements.
