All aircraft doors inspected before flight now: SIA
Singapore Airlines say that all aircraft doors now undergo inspection before take-off, following the emergency landing of an SIA A380 superjumbo.
A malfunctioning door forced a Singapore-bound flight from London to land in Azerbaijan earlier this month.
While investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing, SIA's chief executive Goh Choon Phong said interim measures are in place.
"We'll follow whatever is required. As far as this is concerned, before we operate any flight now, we inspect the door."
Speaking on the sidelines of an industry event this morning, he added that all the airline's A380s have had their doors inspected as well.
Mr Goh said that the door on SQ317 was inspected in London before take-off following reports of noise.
However, the inspection did not reveal anything abnormal and the plane was cleared to fly.
