SINGAPORE: People must continue to be Changi Airport's top priority if it wants to do even better, said Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew.
While Changi Airport is already the world's best airport in the eyes of many, that is one way it can make its "best even better", he said.
Mr Lui added that staff will care for passengers if they know that the management also cares for them.
He was speaking at Changi Airport Group's (CAG) 20th Annual Airport Celebration on Tuesday evening.
Another suggestion given by Mr Lui was to focus on developing traits and not just skills.
Mr Lui said skills can be taught, and will equip staff with the right tools to do the job well.
But he noted that it is positive traits like compassion, warmth and generosity which will have a more profound and lasting impact.
This is even if they take a longer time to nurture.
Mr Lui said it is also important to recognise and celebrate staff who have done well.
He noted that in CAG's 2013 Employee Satisfaction Survey, 15 out of 20 airport partner agencies showed improved scores compared to one year ago. - CNA/gn
