Air quality in Singapore

The air quality in Singapore is gradually worsening.

At 4pm today, the Pollutant Standards Index or PSI reading was between 58 and 64 which is in the moderate range.

The eastern and northern parts of the country are the worst affected with a reading of 64.

The National Environment Agency or NEA, attributed the hazy conditions to an escalation of hotspot activities in Sumatra in the past week.

Those with heart or lung disease and children and older adults should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor activities.
