ADSL services affected in recent disruption fully restored, but some problem remains with fibre service: SingTel
SingTel says all affected ADSL services have been restored following Wednesday's fire and service disruption.
But it said on its Facebook page on Saturday that a small number of fibre cables require further rectification work.
The telco said some fibre customers may be experiencing service performance issues or difficulties connecting to the Internet.
For customers who subscribe to fibre broadband services only, SingTel is dispatching mobile broadband dongles to them as soon as possible for use with their laptops and desktop PCs.
For fibre-based mio TV, mio Voice and Internet customers, the telco will start to install ADSL broadband at their homes to support these services.
To expedite the process, SingTel requests affected customers to contact the company at email@example.com with their account number and contact details.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, StarHub said some customers are still facing problems with their fibre connections.
On its Facebook page, the telco said this could be because some restored connections had not been reconnected properly during the restoration process.
StarHub said it will continue to work with OpenNet/ SingTel to determine the cause of the problem.
StarHub added that it is contacting affected customers to offer cable modem access in the interim, and ensure that the service to affected customers is restored as soon as possible.
On Wednesday, a fire broke out at a SingTel facility in Bukit Panjang.
It caused a massive disruption to several telecommunication services and affected the other telcos, OpenNet, Singapore Pools and AXS.
