A fire at the SingTel Bukit Panjang exchange this afternoon has affected some fixed, voice, broadband and mobile services.
In a post on its Twitter feed, the telco says it's trying to restore service as soon as possible.
Some MediaCorp listeners said they experienced service disruption in areas like Bukit Panjang and Woodlands.
Several ATM terminals and AXS machines at Bukit Panjang Plaza are also down.
The Singapore Pools outlet the mall was also affected.
When contacted Singapore Pools said all its outlets have been affected, except for its main branch.
It said it will issue a statement shortly to explain the glitch.
In a post on its twitter feed, DBS said the fire has affected services at several branches and ATMs.
It added that it's taking proactive measures to minimise the disruptions and will extend operating hours at all DBS and POSB branches by an hour today.
DBS says customers will have immediate access to cash via urgent over-the-counter withdrawals.
And it gave the assurance that all funds are safe.
When contacted, AXS says all its 860 terminals islandwide were initially affected.
A spokesman said the Bukit Panjang Exchange fire could have triggered the shutdown although he couldn't confirm it.
In an update, the spokesman said the majority of the terminals are now back in service; only a quarter of the machines are still non-operational.
A spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it had been alerted to the fire at 40 Woodlands Road at 2.16pm.
The fire, which had been "inside the cable room at level one of the building", was extinguished within 20 minutes of the SCDF's arrival using two jets.
