SINGAPORE: Police have arrested 88 women in a joint operation on public entertainment outlets along Joo Chiat Road and in Geylang over the weekend.
The women, aged between 18 and 37, were arrested for unlawful employment offences.
A police statement said investigations against all the suspects are ongoing.
It added that the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) detected fire safety violations and will be following up on the necessary enforcement actions.
The joint operation, which lasted from Friday night to Saturday morning, was led by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and involved officers from SCDF and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).
