86 drug offenders arrested in 3-day islandwide operations
The Central Narcotics Bureau, CNB, and the police have arrested 86 drug offenders and seized drugs worth more than $39,000 in an island-wide operation.
Investigations on all the arrested persons are ongoing.
In one of the operations on Wednesday, CNB officers raided a unit at Hougang Avenue 8 and arrested a 48-year-old man there.
They recovered about 52 grammes of heroin, estimated to be worth more than $5,000 from the unit.
Cash totalling more than $2,500, believed to be illicit proceeds from selling drugs, was also recovered.
Investigations into the drug trafficking activities of the man are ongoing.
If convicted, he faces a minimum of 5 years' imprisonment and 5 strokes of the cane.
