SINGAPORE: Forty people were arrested in a 19—hour joint enforcement operation for drug related offences, immigration, unlicensed moneylending and other criminal offences.
The operation, which was conducted on July 10, was led by Ang Mo Kio Police Division, 115 officers from the Home Team Departments (Singapore Police Force, Central Narcotics Bureau and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority) and the Singapore Customs conducted checks on a total of 170 people at public entertainments outlets in Yishun, Sembawang, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang and Sengkang.
Besides the 40 who were arrested, three people were also summoned for possession of contraband cigarettes.
Police are investigating all those arrested and summoned in the blitz.
