3 in 4 Singapore travellers plan leisure trips less than a month in advance
A recent study revealed that more than three-quarters of Singapore travellers plan their leisure trips less than a month in advance.
Among this group, almost half of them are aged between 26 to 35.
Only 1 in 10 Singapore travellers plan their trips more than six months in advance.
Laurens van den Oever, Global Travel Director of market research company, GfK, notes that the trend is likely due to the availability of discounted airfare for last minute flights by airlines.
The study also found that internet is the most popular platform to gather required travel information, with 4 in 5 respondents doing their research online.
Only 1 in 5 rely on travel agencies, travel fair and articles in newspapers.
Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia are the top choices for Singapore travellers.
