SINGAPORE: Local athletes participating in the upcoming Special Olympics Games were given an official send—off ceremony.
For the first—time ever, Singapore will send a team of five speed skaters to the Special Olympics World Winter Games.
Fifteen other athletes will also be competing in floor hockey at Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Also present at the ceremony was Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Mr Lawrence Wong.
They will join nearly 2,400 fellow athletes and teams from over 110 nations worldwide.
The week—long Games begin on January 29.
