2 China workers who sat on top of cranes escorted down by SCDF officers
Police have taken in for investigation the two workers from China who sat on top of cranes for hours today over an apparent wage dispute.
Responding to a query from MediaCorp, a police spokesperson said the two workers were taken to Clementi Police Division.
This morning, the two workers sat on the top of two cranes at a construction site in Jurong Port Road and refused to come down over what appeared to be a work dispute.
At about 2.15pm, three SCDF officers were seen climbing one of the cranes.
Shortly after, one of the workers climbed down, accompanied by the officers.
The second worker remained on the adjacent crane for the next hour.
At about 3pm, it started to rain.
Shortly after, two SCDF officers were seen approaching the crane with the second worker on it.
Officials from the Ministry of Manpower were also at the scene.
