15—year—old under investigation for making false police report
SINGAPORE: A 15—year—old student is being investigated for making a false police report.
Police said the teen lodged the report at about 10pm on 16 July.
He had stated that an unknown female had threatened and attempted to extort S$250 from him after taking his student EZ—link card around Block 127, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.
During investigations, inconsistencies surfaced in his report.
Police believe the student had lost his student EZ—link card and was afraid to tell his parents the truth.
Police believe he made a false report to avoid being scolded by his parents.
