SINGAPORE: 142 licensed security agencies have been rated excellent or good in an annual grading exercise, according to results released by the police.
According to results of this year’s mandatory grading exercise for licensed security agencies, 52 agencies were found to be grade A, or excellent, while 90 were found to be grade B, or good.
In a statement, the police also said that 81 agencies were satisfactory, or grade C, while 33 were unsatisfactory, or grade D.
Seven agencies, which were newly licensed, were exempted from this year’s exercise to allow them enough time to prepare for the grading exercise.
The statement said the grading exercise is meant to be an objective and authoritative assessment of the agencies in Singapore.
The purpose is to help those seeking security services differentiate the quality of services provided by the various agencies.
The statement said the exercise is also meant to spur the industry to raise its standards.
