SINGAPORE: More than 130 golfers have raised some S$288,000 for the SportCares Foundation.
This is the largest amount raised at a single event since the foundation was launched a year ago.
About 130 underprivileged children and youth have benefited from the initiative, which aims to use sports for social good.
Singapore's President Tony Tan Keng Yam was at the event and witnessed the launch of the foundation's latest initiative - the Water Lions Kayaking Orientation Programme.
Starting from January next year, the initiative will see some 30 students from the Institute of Technical Education receive weekly kayaking lessons. - CNA/xq
