Hello Kitty

Just what is it about this little kitty that makes Singaporeans so obsessed over her?

Snaking queues were formed, cat fights broke out and tempers flared as anxious Singaporeans clamored to get their claws, er hands, on McDonald’s limited edition Hello Kitty plush toys.

Those that went home empty-handed took to social media to register their anger, while greedy scalpers re-sold the dolls on eBay at far higher prices - one optimistic seller even thought he could fetch S$3,888 for the complete set of six dolls!

While it is futile to wish that Singaporeans grow up and get over this mouthless feline, we hope McDonald’s manages the crowd and sale of their Hello Kitty toys better in future.
