A protest march by Coptic Christians over another attack on a church spiraled into the worst violence since the revolution - with many witnesses blaming the army for firing on the protesters, and accusing the regime of encouraging ethnic tension to excuse their authoritarian behaviour. At least 24 people are left dead by the violence.
