The kangaroo is iconic to most Australians, but one stood out above all - Skippy the kangaroo.

Serving as the main character on a popular children's show about a boy and his kangaroo, Skippy skipped its way into Australians' hearts with its intelligence in saving the day, by hopping around, and rendering assistance. Interestingly, Skippy was "represented" in the show by nine different kangaroos that looked similar to each other, from 1966 and1968.

Till today, Skippy lives on, but in the form of parody, as countless spoof acts have taken to "dubbing" Skippy, giving him a slightly ruder personality. However, most Australian would still remember it as the smart and loyal friend.
