Shocking top alternative medicines
On 6 May 2012, Korean authorities revealed it had found 35 attempts to import 17,451 capsules from China that contain the powdered flesh of dead babies. Citizens have been up in arms over the medicine's ethicality and purity from bacteria and other disease-causing organisms.
These pills were allegedly taken as a cure for diseases and a sexual performance enhancer. Some pills were hidden in packages of legitimate drugs to disguise their contents. Chinese heath authorities have not been able to uncover the capsules in the mainland despite various checks.
This recent news adds to the increasing amount of alternative medicines that have caused public outcry and had its authenticity questioned, sometimes causing harm to endangered species and other animals. Here is xinmsn's list of the weirdest and most shocking medicines that claim to have properties to improve health and wellbeing.
