Nancy Lanza

The gunman's mother and first victim was divorced from his father. She was described as houseproud and popular with her neighbours, sometimes throwing dice parties at her home.

She was also a gun collector who taught her son to shoot. Adam Lanza took at least two of her semi-automatic pistols and an assault rifle on his murderous spree.
