Formula One Indian GP to go ahead after court challenge delayed

"The hearing will now take place next week," one of the lawyers involved with the case told AFP on condition of anonymity.
"This means the race can go ahead."
A new date to hear the petition had yet to be set, said another source.
The activist Amit Kumar, who filed the petition, has alleged that organisers have not paid entertainment taxes for the race held last year.
Kumar successfully argued two years ago that Formula One was entertainment and not sport, and should not benefit from tax exemptions granted by the state of Uttar Pradesh which hosts the race.
Entertainment tax, applicable for large-scale shows and sponsored festivals, has been levied on tickets this year for the first time.
