Australia's Robertson eyes century landmark

Australia's Neil Robertson was on the verge of snooker history on Sunday after moving to within one century of 100 hundred breaks for the season.

Having already surpassed Judd Trump's record of 63 hundreds in a tour season, Robertson added two more tons while establishing a 9-7 lead over Mark Allen in the second round of the World Championship at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre.

But for Robertson the immediate priority is to take the four more frames he requires to win this best of 25-frame contest.

The 2010 world champion was given a tough time by Northern Ireland's Allen.

However, he made a superb clearance of 137, his 99th century of the campaign, before winning the final two frames of the session -- the first time the players had been separated by more than one frame.

Hong Kong's Marco Fu finished the day with a flourish Sunday, making a break of 136 to trail 2005 world champion Shaun Murphy 9-7 heading into Monday's play.

Trump leads Ryan Day 10-6 while Wales's Dominic Dale is just one frame away from victory at 12-4 up against Michael Wasley, the man responsible for the first-round defeat of China's Ding Junhui.
