HDB says Park Central residents will benefit from upcoming BTO project

TheHousing & Development Board (HDB) has said that residents from the recentlycompleted Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) project, Park Central in Ang MoKio will benefit from the additional common facilities that come with the newBuild-To-Order (BTO) flats. These include a new playground, adult and elderlyfitness stations, a plaza and amphitheatre.

Ithas reassured residences that it will take all measures to minimiseinconvenience to Park Central residents caused by the building of the new BTOflats and will work closely with the local grassroots leaders to address anyissues or feedback that existing residents may have. In the process, HDB will alsoincorporate suggestions that are feasible and beneficial to the majority.

HDB%E2%80%99sstatement comes in response to the concerns that some residents of Park Centralhave that the public housing authority is launching a BTO project less than 50metres away from their flat. It added that it is not uncommon for HDB blocks orprivate apartments to be built within 50 metres from one another. The majorityof the residents have only been living there for less than a year.

Memberof Parliament, Mr Ang Hin Kee has said he is aware of the residents' concernsand has been in touch with the authorities to see what can be done.
Forexample, PM Ang said HDB has assured residents there will be sufficient carparkspace for all current and future residents. He also said he will be havingdialogues with the residents once the authorities are able to provide moredetails on measures they will be taking to alleviate the concerns.
