A lookback at the beginnings of "Sumptuous Erotica"

Because their inappropriate photos kept getting flagged on Facebook and had to be taken down, a young Malaysian couple decided to start their own sex blog, calling it “Sumptuous Erotica”.

National University of Singapore (NUS) scholar Alvin Tan, who came to Singapore on an Asean scholarship in 2004, and his partner Vivian Lee would then post explicit photos and videos of their lovemaking, declaring that “sex is a natural reproductive process that does not deserve the stigma attached to it”. The content was "meant for everyone to enjoy”, said the 24-year-old Tan.

The couple's naked photos, close-up shots of their genitals as well as a picture of bloodstained sanitary pad were among the photos seen on the website.
