She allegedly showered her married law lecturer with gifts and even gave him gratification in the form of sexual intercourse - in exchange for good grades for her final year law paper.

The so-called gifts presented as incentives by Darinne Ko Wen Hui to her National University of Singapore (NUS) Law professor Tey Tsun Hang apparently include a Mont Blanc pen worth S$74, an iPod worth S$160 as well as two tailor-made shirts. The 23-year-old also allegedly paid for one of his bills amounting to almost S$1,300.

The former Raffles Girls' School, Raffles Junior College student was on NUS Law's Dean's List in 2009, and is described as highly motivated and competitive. Ko, who has since graduated from NUS is said to be currently working as a pupil at a law firm in Singapore.

According to reports, she was arrested in April and is currently out on bail. Represented by lawyer Subhas Anandan, she has not been charged but "strenuously denies any corrupt wrongdoing" and will "appear in court to tell her side of the story when the time comes".

Tey faces six corruption charges for allegedly showing favour to his former student in 2010. The case, originally slated to start Oct 15, has been postponed until after mid-December this year following allegations that Tey was “coerced into confessing to his alleged offences”.
