Haniel Soh is not the first – and likely not the last – to get rebuked for his online remarks.

An undergraduate teaching award holder is in hot soup for his remarks about teaching and his students on social media.

Haniel Soh, who was on a vacation attachment at Broadrick Secondary School, complained on Facebook and Instagram that teaching was boring and also criticised his students online.

“Mid-day selfies taken in a staff toilet are all that stand between me and utter boredom,” wrote Soh on Facebook.

In another post, he said that was "very happy" that one of his students did not do his homework and spent 47 minutes completing what was assigned to him a week ago, as this meant "free money” for him.

Soh also mocked another of his students, who has a case of body odour, writing: "Help! My tutee has BO. Is this pain worth the $45/h? Do teenagers these days bathe?"
