Thousands take to the streets in cities across the globe to push for workers' rights.
May 1 is International Workers' Day, and as a public holiday in many countries around the world, it's a time to celebrate the worker. As such, it has become a regular occasion for people to protest for improved working conditions and labour rights. Sometimes these protests can turn violent – this year Istanbul in particular saw clashes between protestors and police, with tear gas fired to disperse the crowd.
