The Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya murder

The murder of a tycoon

When: Occured on the 30th of August 2010 approximately between 8:30PM and 9:45PM.

What went down: Cosmetics tycoon, Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya, was killed along with her lawyer, financial adviser and driver when they made a trip to Banting to negotiate a land deal. The four, at first reported missing, were bludgeoned to death, and then set on fire. Their ashes were scattered over a river near Ladang Gadong in Tanjung Sepat, near Banting.

The accused: Lawyer, N. Pathmanabhan and three farm workers, T. Thilaiyalagan, R. Matan, and R. Kathavarayan.
