Goodbye, Lavender Food Square

Hawkers, who have called the food centre home for the past 22 years, will be leaving with heavy hearts.

In April, foodies bade farewell to Longhouse at Upper Thomson Road, and in another six to nine months, another popular food haunt will make way for new developments - Lavender Food Square.

Together with Eminent Plaza next door, the food centre, which houses more than 30 stalls, will make way for a new commercial building, ARC 380, a 16-storey freehold development with more than 160 office and retail units.

Hawkers xinmsn spoke with voiced uncertainty of what the future holds for them, with retirement a possibility for many, including owners of popular stalls like Kin Turtle Soup and Albert Street Prawn Mee.
