Giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia have found their home away from home at River Safari’s Giant Panda Forest. The pair was introduced to their lush surroundings today after completing their one-month quarantine on Oct 6.

The Wildlife Reserve Singapore’s veterinary team has given the two a clean bill of health after a thorough medical examination on Sept 20. The pair has been feeding on locally-grown bamboo such as sulphur and Siamese bamboo ever since their arrival on Sept 6.

The 1,500 square-metre climate-controlled habitat simulates the cuddly bears’ natural habitat, with live plants, boulders and water features specially designed with the two in mind. The pandas’ comfort is ensured with the temperature kept between 18-22 degrees Celsius and humidity set at 50-60 per cent all year round.
