Deficit

The next topic was basically the same one - cutting the deficit, in which Mitt Romney took the bold step of telling the debate's moderator, Jim Lehrer, that he would cut funding for PBS, the television station that employs Lehrer. This also provided the debate's comic hilight, as Romney expressed his love for Big Bird from Sesame Street , then pledged to cut funding for Big Bird as well. Obama argued that Romney's refusal to put up taxes on the rich was a bad idea, but again got rather bogged down in the details of his argument. Obama also looked a bit sleepy.
