Feng Tianwei goes head-on with personal obstacles to secure Olympics win

Singaporean paddlers Feng Tianwei, Li Jiawei and Wang Yuegu returned to home last Friday (Aug 10) after their wins at the London Olympics 2012.
Tianwei made history when she defeated Japan's Kasumi Ishikawa at the women's singles table tennis bronze medal match, making her the first to win a medal at a singles event in 52 years.
The team of three later brought home another bronze medal when they defeated South Korea's paddlers with a 3-0 match victory at the women's team table tennis event.
xinmsn sat down with Tianwei, Jiawei and Yuegu in a joint interview with 95.8FM this morning where the trio shared each other's secrets.
The youngest of the trio, 25-year-old Tianwei demands a lot from herself and admits that the most difficult thing during the competition was "to face myself".
She explained, "As I wasn't in a tip-top condition, I needed to know how I could overcome myself."
Yuegu then shared that despite being the youngest, Tianwei has a good sense of direction and knows how to take care of herself.
Previously, Tianwei's love life came under the spotlight when she agreed that it was time for her to get a boyfriend. The criteria for her Mr Right: He has to be a Singaporean, knows how to speak Mandarin Chinese and has to support her career as a national table tennis player.
After word spread, Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) president Lee Bee Wah expressed that Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Chan Chun Sing has been commissioned to help Tianwei find a suitable man.

The likes of PAUL R581 would probably be a foreign import into Singapore himself or an off-spring of an original immigrant, so why the continued attempt to under value the "foreign imported" TianWei who is today as Singaporean as any true blooded local born. TianWei, personally and collectively with her team mates deserve all the accolades that had been showered on her and them.
