Qantas and Emirates close to alliance deal

Australia's Qantas Airways is getting closer to forming an alliance with Emirates that would allow both airlines to sell tickets on each other's flights.
According to the Australian Financial Review, the two carriers are holding late-stage talks over a code-share agreement that would involve Qantas flying to Dubai for the first time.
The report also said Qantas can rely on Emirates to transfer passengers to Europe, the Middle East and parts of Africa.
It added that no final agreement has yet been reached as there are multiple sticking points that need to be resolved.
