The original World Trade Center was a complex of seven buildings including the iconic twin towers and the cost for the construction was $400 million ($2,169,167,354 as of 2011). The original World Trade Center was designed by Minoru Yamasaki in the early 1960s using a tube-frame structural design for the twin 110-story towers.
