This year’s celebrations on the Float at Marina Bay bring back old favourites as well as new surprises, so here is what you should look out for come August 9

Singapore celebrates its 47th birthday on August 9, 2012 at the Float at Marina Bay. With the theme 'Loving Singapore, Our Home', this year's festivities are set to astound once with a parade display by servicemen, uniformed and civilian groups. The accompanying show segment is also one to look out for with multimedia projections and mass performance displays.

This year's National Day Parade is hosted by Gurmit Singh, Jean Danker, Joakim Gomez, Sharon Au and Suhaimi Yusof. Annual crowd-pleasers include the presidential 21-gun salute and the 'Salute to the Nation' move executed by eight Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) fighter aircraft.
