This week’s 32-year-old Singaporean teacher isn’t the only one entered an illicit relationship during a school trip. In 2006, high school teacher Carrie McCandless, who is married to the school’s principal, had a sexual tryst with a 17-year-old student during a school-sponsored trip to the Rockies. The teacher made headlines after it was reported that she had given the students booze while they all stayed together in the YMCA.

McCandless was fired from her job and sentenced to 45 days in jail. In March 2009, she was caught violating her parole by drinking alcohol and landing in bed with another parolee. As a consequence, she was jailed again. In spite of everything, she and her husband remain married.
